Applications of Flaker Rolls or Flaking Mill Rolls:
The Flaker Rolls or Flaking Mill Rolls are used in the processing of:

  • Oil Seeds such as soybean , rapeseed , canola , palm kernel , sunflower , mustard
  • Feedlots
  • Breakfast Cereal
  • Corn Flakes
  • Rice Flakes
  • Guar Gum

Materials of Flaker Rolls or Flaking Mill Rolls:
Over the years we have developed different options of wear-optimized special materials for the Flaker Rolls, to suit your requirements and give you best possible results. Our materials are for example the following:

  • Chilled Cast Iron
  • Alloyed Indefinite Chilled Cast Iron
  • ORT® = Special material, from our partners, Walzen Irle GmbH

Although all the above materials have their own strengths, ORT® has been developed especially for high-speed- and high-performance flakers. The material which has proved itself in the industry for many years is characterized by a high hardness and good features of thermal conductivity.

Furthermore the special metallurgic material prevents a work hardening intensity of the flaker rolls or flaking mill rolls thus reducing the risk of spalling.
